Artist statement

Fabric speaks through the utility of our experiences, of our bodies at work. The reactions to movement, perspiration, sunlight and distress all call attention to how fabric is imprinted by our daily labor. As a female worker under capitalism, the intersection of femininity and labor is central to my practice. Specifically, I am interested in detombing the transformative power of fabric in the hopes of revealing forms of value that have been buried beneath the dominant mode of production. My practice is centered by an approach that aims to conjure up a new understanding of decoration, utility, labor, values of femininity through the use of recycled wood, workwear and ephemera.
